What Afrinkong is

Afrinkong is a travel company. It plans and runs journeys across Africa, and it writes about the places it takes people to — 54 countries, in the detail a person actually needs to choose between them.

It is not a marketplace, not a booking engine reselling somebody else's inventory, and not a magazine with a contact form attached.

Who runs the ground

In 3 of those countries the ground operation is ours: our vehicles, our drivers, our people, named on the country's own page along with where they are based and since when. Everywhere else we work with operators we have chosen, and the page says which.

We would rather tell you the difference than let you assume it is the same everywhere.

Afrinkong and Wankong LLC

Where a journey is run by a local operator, that operator is named too. Three parties, all of them stated — and who acts, at every moment it matters, is set out act by act.

What we hold

Nothing of yours. There is no account, no balance, no card on file and no money held by Afrinkong at any point in the planning you can do on this site. The Journey Fund is arithmetic and a calendar; it says so on the page.

Travel Points are a designed product that is not operating. Nothing on this site issues, sells or holds one, and the programme cannot until a compliance ladder that is written down and enforced in code has been walked.

How to reach a person

An enquiry is answered by a person, usually the same working day. If your dates do not suit the region you have in mind we will say so rather than sell you the wrong month.
